During a migration from vsphere4 to vsphere5 it appears the mac address tied to the nic changed on a single vm out of 100. I am wondering why this may have happen.
If I got this right by saying "I copied" upon registering a VM, it may change the UUID. This would I guess tell me why the VM's MAC address changed.
I registered the VM to a totally different vcenter. I removed it from the previous vcenter and intended to register it on a new one,
Is it because on my new target vcenter that UUID may have been taken? and that is why it changed it?
I have been defaulting to "i copied" for migrations for moving VMs from one vcenter to another... I guess another question would be, should I just say "i moved" so it does not change the UUID.
