Hi,
I have a esxi vsphere 5 server with 2 vms. Sbs 2011 and vcenter. The server started to be very slow, in a way that all users could not work. So I have shut down both vm's and restarted the esxi. The vcenter is up, but for my sbs 2011, I have a black screen. There is a message saying "virtual machine disks consolidation is needed". In the snapshot manager, there is none but I can see there there is big files that are snapshots so I have to consolidate.
Because the server was extensively slow, I have no recent backup. My questions are;
- The sbs 2011 has been booting up for an hour now, is he in the process of consolidating?
- Should I force a shutdown of the VM and do a consolidation?
I don't see error messages in the vsphere client. There seems to be some writing going on, so I'm not sure if I should stop the VM or not.
Thanks
