RTC Support at S4 in VMs

I'm trying to run WHCK tests on VMs with Windows OSes installed (e.g., Windows 7 and 8). The problem is that many of the WHCK tests require support of hibernate/S4 in which the system is resumed due to an RTC. If I run Microsoft's pwrtest.exe from a command window in a VM, it reports that S4 is supported but RtcWakeSupported is only supported at S1.

I did not see any VM settings for RTC at low power states, so can someone ansswer these questions?

  1. Can hibernate/S4 tests run in a VM? For example, what do I need to do to get pwrtest /sleep /s:4 to pass?
  2. Are these any ESXi options that need to be set to enabled RTC at S4?

Thanks!
