ESXi 5.1 Hardware Monitoring issues

We are using HP-SIM (along with Insight Control for vCenter)  monitoring all of our HP Hardware using the HP-Branded ISO for our ESXi 5.1 (build 799733) implementation.  The problem isn't on the HP-SIM side, the problem is that occasionally the CIM Server service does not respond on the host.  The CIM Server service does show as running in vCenter, but the hardware sensor reports "No new host data available..." error.  HP-SIM records this as a WBEM with a question mark (along with no hardware data).  The simple solution is to restart the CIM Server service on the host.  The problem is that I don't have an easy way of monitoring out that ithe service isn't responding in vCenter or HP-SIM since the service is running.  I do have an Alarm in vCenter (part of Insight Control) that's called HP Server WBEM indication but I've had no luck getting that working so it reports that the service isn't working (though running).

So my question is as follows:

1)  Since the CIM Server service is running but not reporting, how can I monitor the service in a way that lends to automate restarting the CIM Server service?

Thanks.
