1000Base-LX NIC (Singlemode)

I'm searching a NIC for 1 Gbit over Singlemode Fibre with PCI-Express interface.

I found a Allied Telesis AT-2972LX10/LC (with Controller Broadcom BCM 5715S). This Broadcom controller is shown here (http://partnerweb.vmware.com/comp_guide2/detail.php?deviceCategory=io&productid=620&vcl=true) as compatible.

Does that mean that this NIC ist supported although not explicitly shown in compatibility guide?

Does anyone knows a supported alternative?
