Esxi 5.1 License error

So I installed ESXi 5.1 and went to the local website:

I then downloaded and installed the vSphere client circled above.  After launching the tool I get the eval notice:

I click on that link and it takes me to the vmware site and has me register (which I do) and then it gives me a license key:

I enter that license into the Assign a new licenes key field and it just throws this error.

And every time I launch the vSpheare client it keeps warning me that it will expire.

Anyone have any ideas?
