I have 3 ESXi hosts (5.1) I'm now trying to export performance data to zabbix server. I'm planning to use perl sdk with remote esxtop. So my questions are:
1) Is there any other way to do it with minimal overhead?
2) How does vCenter do it? With help of API? or it uses also esxtop?
The main question is how it is possible to get performance data with MINIMAL overhead? I know in linux, all tools are using /proc/* to show readable data. But where is "root" of performance data of esxi host?
