Windows Cluster RDM or VMFS?

In the VMWare Knowledge Base article (http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1037959#consid), it mentions about windows clustering and the type of file system to use for Cluster across Boxes. We have 2 servers with SAS connections to a SAS External disk storage array. The article seems to say that for Cluster across Boxes, we should use RDM as the file type for the Quorum and Data. Is this true or is VMFS still an option? I know it states it for FC -SAN connections but what about SAS connections? Thanks.
