Question:
Can ESXi Hosts, hosting MSCS(RDM configured) Nodes, be members of, and leverage the functionality within different DRS clusters?
Background:
The DRS Clusters are not in the same facility, and the anticipated MSCS Node workload will not consume the available compute resources of the ESXi hosts. This would facilitate the ability of the "local" DRS cluster to leverage the "unconsumed" compute resources for parallel virtualized "local" workloads.
Scenerio:
- Two Physically distinct Datacenters Managed by a single vSphere vCenter
- Multiple DRS Clusters in each site
- Existing MSCS (RDM Configured Hosts) within existing DRS Clusters
- Site intra-latency permits Physical MSCS Clusters to span the two sites, for DR.
- All ESXi Hosts can access SAN Fabrics in both locations.
Thanks in advance fo any advice that might be offered.
